Shuster Simon Schumann is another character that I’ve been waiting to find a good opportunity to introduce. Loosely inspired by The Simpsons’ unfortunate character Gil Gunderson, just a bit more competent. His name literally translates to Cobbler Simon Shoemaker, which is a joke where the punchline is yet to come.
Jewish occultism and mythology are pretty interesting, and even if it’s not the main subject in this chapter, I wanted to introduce the character before we delve into that niche later on. There are so many cool mythologies and folklore from around the world, and I love gathering inspiration from all of them if I can.
