Started playing Shadow of War recently and I’m enjoying it almost as much as the original. I like the use of colourful areas mixed with the otherwise thematic brown and grey of Mordor, but the Orc design threw me off at first. In Shadow of Mordor, the design lined up a bit more with the movies, while the sequel is a lot more goofy and cartoony with appearances. I wasn’t prepared for that but I enjoy the lighthearted weirdness of it all. The only thing I wish they’d included is more Orcish voices. Right now, some of them sound like dockworkers just coming off a late night shift, getting annoyed to be accounted by the ranger. Raspy, guttural voicework would have worked wonders in my opinion, but it’s a small caveat, and it doesn’t bother me all that much while I’m dominating captains to build my army.
