I had tons of fun drawing the iconic BPRD headquarters. It felt like a dream come true and it was a challenge to find the balance between my grunge noir style and the classic noir feeling.
I am cautiously hopeful for the new Hellboy movie. While it is true the 2019 version did not do well and has divided the fandom, I quite enjoyed it. I am also a big fan of Del Toro’s movies which introduced me to Hellboy as a character since Dark Horse Comics was not a big thing in Sweden back in the nineties. But I spent my late teens pouring over each album, paperback, and single issue I could get my grubby hands on, loving every moment of it. And it would be a lie not to admit that both Mike Mignola and Ben Stenbeck have been huge influences on Curly’s art style.
