Nothing But Trouble Page 04

I always envisioned Curly’s grandmother as a fast-talking, ruthless but still loving con artist who could twist and turn every word against you until you just happened to agree on her terms. My mother was very good at this and an intimidating woman, so I guess some parts of Nana come from her. That poor principal got his bollocks handed to him in a gift wrapper.

I have slowly been playing through Oddworld: New and Tasty lately, and it is entertaining how every area is like a puzzle. You have to time it just right to solve it, using your nogging, skills and a lot, and I mean a lot, of trial and error! I remember playing the original demo back when PlayStation was released but for some reason, I never got my grubby kiddie hands on a copy back then.  That is why I am so happy that Oddworld Inhabitants decided to do a remake of it and a reimagining of Abe’s Exoddus, now called Oddworld: Soulsstorm.

Nothing But Trouble Page 03

I started to replay Fallout 4 the other week, with some visual and FX improving mods on the Playstation 4. Except for it crashing in downtown Boston every now and then, the improvements to Light, weather, fire, and water are vast improvements. I also added a mod that increases the flora so that the world is more green and not so dull. I’ve always been amazed how modders can improve on games and do so without asking for nickles or dimes. I wish more studios would be as open for mods as Bethesda are. I’ve seen some really amazing mods that improve Red Dead Redemption 2 beyond the great game it already is.

Nothing But Trouble Page 01

Here is a character that I have been sitting on for several years, eager to introduce one way or another.  However, I never really found the right story for him until I decided to make him the all-knowing narrator for Curly’s origin story. He actually started life as a really bad 3D model that I made while trying to come up with a cool undead character design. Now here he is everybody, the blues-loving, undead traveling salesman Crispin DeGol!

Bathroom Break Cover

Here comes a fresh (?) new chapter in the story about Curly the Cursed Con Man! What horrific events may occur and what exotic locations may he visit this time around? By the looks of this glorious cover, it appears to be… a toilet? What the heck? Who writes this piece of cra… oh right, never mind. Enjoy your visit to the little boys’ room!

Pascal the Rascal Page 46

When I first wrote this comic, I knew that I wanted a quote from Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, or perhaps H.P. Lovecraft. I ended up with Poe, but not about the subject I thought, instead of loneliness I found one about escapism through alcohol and substances. I soon realized this was far more fitting since I had shown a bit of Curly’s alcohol dependency throughout the story. Weird how things work out and fit into place at times.
